The Back Story

Andrew MacDonald, owner and sole technician of Race House Ski Service, started skiing in the mid '70s on the side of Wildcat Mountain. The youngest of 6 children MacDonald spent the better part of his childhood roaming the steeps and woods of Northern New Hampshire's alpine resorts.

MacDonald's life long passion for skiing continued as he learned his craft at Bob and Terry's Ski and Sport Outlet in North Conway and Bethel Maine. MacDonald continued working in the ski tech business during two ski seasons in Vail, Colorado.

In the late '90s MacDonald's passion for winter and skiing brought him to the Vermont National Guard's 3rd of the 172 Mountain Infantry Unit. It was with the Vermont Guard that MacDonald raced/coached on the US Army Ski Team in the Dolomites of Northern Italy and the Alps of Germany and Austria.

In 2000 MacDonald met his wife as a ski instructor at Bretton Woods Resort. In 2007 MacDonald and his wife welcomed their alpine loving daughter into the family.

A life long passion for skiing, and a need for quality ski tuning in the Newfound Area inspired MacDonald to return to his roots and create Race House Ski Service.
